Our Story and History
Founded in 2015 by Jolene Joshua, Heritage Matters South Africa began from a deeply personal quest. Jolene embarked on a journey to explore her own ancestry, searching for her father’s biological dad.
This exploration led to a remarkable discovery: the connection of a global network of 450 Joshua descendants from various branches of the family.

As Jolene’s extraordinary story was shared, individuals and families from across South Africa and beyond sought her assistance to embark on their own journeys of discovery, seeking lost relatives and ancestors.
